Fast-Loading Wristband Cartridge — Pop it in and Print

Staff insert a Zebra Z-Band cartridge and print without threading loose media through the printer. A smart chip in each cartridge enables automatic calibration, and print speed is set automatically up to 4 ips depending on the installed cartridge.

Quick cartridge changes reduce training and keep admissions or guest-processing stations moving. An illuminated media-low/media-out indicator gives operators clear notice when supplies need attention.

Multiple Connectivity Options

Ethernet, USB, USB host and Bluetooth Low Energy are standard. An optional dual radio adds 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 with concurrent wired and wireless communication.

The optional Print Touch NFC tag allows a compatible mobile device to pair and print with a tap. It also provides direct access to Zebra's library of printer how-to videos.

Compatible with Leading ADT Systems

Zebra validates and approves the ZD510-HC for leading Admission, Discharge and Transfer systems, including Allscripts, CareFusion, Cerner, CPSI, Epic and McKesson. Organizations can use the wristband formats supported by those platforms to get registration and care workflows running quickly.

Direct thermal printing produces barcodes, text and graphics without a ribbon. XML-enabled printing also allows XML communication from compatible information systems.

Easy Migration — No Matter What Kind of Wristband Printing Solution You Have Today

Native ZPL support simplifies migration from another Zebra desktop printer, including legacy HC100 deployments. Existing HC100 wristband-cartridge inventory remains usable with the ZD510-HC, protecting media already on hand.

For migrations from third-party printers, Zebra DNA Printer Emulations can interpret languages normally associated with other printer brands. This can preserve established wristband formats while reducing application changes.

A barcode that will not scan can disrupt patient identification and staff productivity, so Zebra designs, produces and pretests its Z-Band direct thermal wristbands. The media is engineered for image durability and first-scan readability, including narrow barcodes.

Z-Band barcodes are designed to withstand water, soaps, foams, alcohol and other solvents common in healthcare. They are intended to remain scannable for longer than the average patient stay.

Independent laboratory testing cited by Zebra found Z-Bands two to six times more durable than leading competitors after repeated exposure to common hand sanitizers. That comparison applies to the tested wristbands and conditions, not to every possible chemical or use environment.

The ZD510-HC accommodates Zebra's white and color Z-Band line in infant, child and adult sizes, with adhesive or clip closures. Z-Band UltraSoft serves sensitive skin, and Zebra reports its Z-Bands as MR-Safe without presenting an additional hazard during MRI procedures.
