Fast Hybrid Scanning

PRZM Intelligent Imaging, a high-resolution sensor and an 800 MHz processor decode damaged, low-contrast, glossy and electronic symbols with fewer retries. Hands-free motion tolerance reaches 240 inches per second across a 48 by 30.6 degree field of view.

A capacitive touch sensor and accelerometer switch automatically between presentation and handheld modes. Handheld 13 mil UPC range reaches about 24.7 inches; presentation range is limited to about 9.5 inches to reduce unintended reads. Direct Decode Indicator, LEDs and an adjustable beeper confirm each capture.

Designed for the Counter

The balanced handle supports repeated pickup, while the compact adjustable stand saves counter space. A single-board design, double-sealed optics, recessed scan window and elevated electronics protect against daily wear. IP52 sealing, multiple 5-foot drops and 2,000 tumbles support busy point-of-sale and service workflows.

More Data in One Pass

Multi-Code Data Formatting captures several symbols and sends only required values in the expected order; Preferred Symbol isolates one barcode from a group. Intelligent Document Capture corrects full-page and check images, exports BMP, JPEG or TIFF, and uses OCR to transmit text from passports and IDs. Checkpoint EAS deactivation applies only to compatible DS9908 configurations and EAS systems.

Measure and Improve

ScanSpeed Analytics reports barcode performance and time spent in handheld versus presentation mode to distinguish label, device and workflow problems. The 1280 x 800 sensor resolves Code 39 and Code 128 down to 3 mil and Data Matrix or QR Code down to 6 mil when configured appropriately.

Deploy and Manage

Auto-host detect cables support USB, RS232, Keyboard Wedge and TGCS (IBM) 46XX plus nearly 100 keyboards. DS9808 cable and power-supply compatibility can simplify upgrades. 123Scan manages parameters and firmware, Scanner Management Service supports remote fleets, and Zebra SDKs cover Windows, Android, iOS and Linux.
