Scan it all — with virtually no exceptions

The DS9308 reads standard and high-density 1D/2D symbols, phone screens, DotCode and dotted DataMatrix through cellophane; Digimarc support is available only on specific DS9300 configurations. Its 800 MHz processor, megapixel sensor and PRZM Intelligent Imaging decode poorly printed, damaged, crinkled, faded, truncated and low-contrast barcodes, while a curved exit window reduces reflections from glossy labels and screens.

Rapid-fire can’t-miss scanning

Swipe speeds are up to 50% faster than competitive presentation scanners, letting the DS9308 capture labels as quickly as they are presented. The largest field of view in its class reduces item repositioning and helps cashiers find the scan zone naturally.

Intelligent adaptive illumination

The recessed LEDs dynamically dim when the scanner is idle and activate when a barcode enters the field. This automatic behavior limits unnecessary light and reduces eye annoyance for associates and customers.

Drops, dust and spills — no problem

The DS9308 is designed for 5 ft. (1.5 m) drops to concrete and 1,000 consecutive 1.5 ft. (0.5 m) tumbles. IP52 sealing plus a concealed beeper opening, elevated circuitry and an elevated cable connector make even the base resistant to dust and everyday spills.

A multi-position base that won’t wear out

The frictionless ratcheting base provides four useful positions from 15 degrees back to 45 degrees forward. Its wear-resistant mechanism maintains convenient aiming flexibility through years of daily adjustment.

Backwards compatibility with DS9208 cables and power supplies

The DS9308 works with DS9208 cables and power supplies. Organizations can move to newer imaging and software capabilities while reusing compatible installed infrastructure.
