The Zebra DS9308 is a compact presentation scanner for space-constrained convenience, drug, quick-service restaurant, retail and hospitality counters. Its stylish near-zero-footprint design combines high-speed 1D/2D imaging with a rugged, spill-resistant base for speedier transactions and dependable all-day service.
An 800 MHz processor, megapixel sensor and Zebra PRZM Intelligent Imaging work together on damaged, low-contrast and mobile barcodes, while advanced capture tools handle documents, multiple labels and selected driver-license workflows. The four-position base, broad mounting options and compatibility with DS9208 cables and power supplies simplify installation and upgrades.

Compact, Fast Presentation Scanning
The near-zero-footprint housing and 45-degree cable connector fit crowded checkout counters. PRZM Intelligent Imaging, an 800 MHz processor, megapixel sensor and curved exit window capture standard and high-density 1D/2D symbols, phone screens, DotCode and dotted DataMatrix through cellophane. Digimarc is limited to specific configurations.
Swipe speeds are up to 50% faster than competitive presentation scanners, while the wide field of view reduces repositioning. Adaptive illumination dims at idle and activates when a barcode enters the field.
More Than Barcode Capture
Supported North American workflows parse driver-license data for age verification, loyalty and credit applications. Intelligent Document Capture converts A6-or-smaller prescriptions, passports and checks into corrected electronic images. Multi-Code Data Formatting captures several symbols in one pass, and Preferred Symbol selects the intended code from a group. Compatible configurations can coordinate scanning with Checkpoint EAS deactivation.
Built for the Counter
The DS9308 is designed for 5-foot drops, 1,000 consecutive tumbles and IP52 resistance to dust and everyday spills. Front and rear good-decode LEDs and an adjustable beeper confirm reads. Its frictionless ratcheting base provides four positions from 15 degrees back to 45 degrees forward without a wear-prone hinge.
Simple Deployment
DS9208 cable and power-supply compatibility protects installed infrastructure. Optimized defaults, auto-host-detect cables and nearly 100 international keyboards simplify rollout. Slipper-style and locking mounts support counter, wall, handheld and self-checkout use. Zebra Simple Setup Experience can create a tailored configuration from a phone in five minutes or less.
Zebra DNA Management
123Scan stages or updates devices with one configuration barcode. Scanner SDK supports custom applications, ScanSpeed Analytics identifies performance issues, and Scanner Management Service or Windows Management Instrumentation provides remote fleet control.

Use the DS9308 for point of sale, coupons and loyalty, age verification, EAS, ticketing, boarding passes and quick-service counters. Supported formats include major 1D/2D symbologies, OCR-A, OCR-B, MICR and U.S. currency; image exports include Bitmap, JPEG and TIFF.
