Scan It All, Everywhere

A megapixel sensor improves capture of damaged and poorly printed symbols, while fast swipe speeds and a large omnidirectional field reduce careful positioning. The DS5502 reads printed and mobile 1D/2D barcodes, tickets, boarding passes, loyalty cards and coupons, including dim displays.

Image and document capture plus multiple OCR fonts extend the scanner to prescriptions, IDs and checks. Driver-license data can support age or identity verification and populate loyalty or credit workflows.

Fits Small Spaces

The 1.2 by 2.2 by 2.8-inch housing mounts at registers, under counters and in compact workstations. Its flat face supports flush mounting in kiosks, lockers, BOPIS stations, lottery terminals and ticketing equipment. DS457-like dimensions and mounting holes simplify replacement.

Straight and right-angle USB or RS232 cables in 2-foot and 7-foot lengths support embedded and countertop layouts.

Clear Aiming and Feedback

Soft white illumination is comfortable for users, and the green LED aimer stays visible in varied light. Good-decode LEDs and a beeper twice as loud as the DS457 confirm captures in noisy or enclosed installations.

Flexible Mounting

A standard 1/4-20 camera mount accepts third-party clamps, poles, swivels, wall and vehicle mounts. Zebra’s optional 3-in-1 magnetic accessory combines display, wall and presentation mounting and allows quick handheld removal.

Durable, Multi-Interface Design

IP54 sealing and 5-foot drops protect against dust, spills and daily handling. Every model supports USB and RS232, allowing interface migration without replacing the scanner. Zebra backs the DS5502 with a three-year warranty.
