Front Exit with a Protective Cover

A covered paper path and front receipt exit suit hospitality counters where spills are a concern. The CT-S851III combines this arrangement with receipt printing at up to 500 mm/sec.

LCD Guidance and Accessible Service

The backlit LCD provides settings, status and error guidance at the printer. A soft-close cover and self-retracting snap-in cutter support paper changes and tool-free maintenance.

Resolution, fonts and character memory

203 dpi; fonts A 12 × 24 dots (1.50 × 3.00 mm), B 9 × 24 dots (1.13 × 3.00 mm), C 8 × 16 dots (1.00 × 2.00 mm); 384 KB user memory for characters and logos. Alphanumeric, international, katakana, Thai, PC437/850/852/857/858/860/863/864/865/866/737/862, WPC1252/1258/1251/1253/1255 and TCVN-3 character sets.

Print speed and input buffer

Up to 500 mm/s (maximum, print density level 100%, 4000 dot lines/second); input buffer 4K bytes / 45 bytes.

Print width and line spacing

Maximum 80 mm (640 dots); selectable widths depend on paper and memory settings. Line spacing 4.23 mm (1/6 inch), adjustable by command.

Paper widths and print columns

58 / 60 / 80 / 82.5 mm thermal receipt paper. Maximum columns (fonts A/B/C): 58 mm = 35/46/52; 60 mm = 36/48/54; 80 mm = 48/64/72; 83 mm nominal = 53/71/80.

Roll size, core and loading

Manual specifies 53–85 µm paper thickness; current product page lists 65–75 or 75–85 µm stock classes. Recommended thermal grades include Mitsubishi P220AG, P220A, HP220AB-1, F230AA, P220AB and PB670 (two-color); Oji PD150R/PD160R; Nippon TF50KS-E-2D.
