Impact Receipt Printer
Impact receipt printers use a dot-matrix print head and ink ribbon to print text onto plain paper. This print style allows for easy print duplicates like you would see with credit slips. Printouts are more resistant to the elements, making these printers a great choice for kitchens, dry cleaners, or any business where temperature and humidity could make thermal receipts difficult to read. Impact printers also can be used for slip printing and check validation.

MoreInformationImpact Receipt Printers
Standard impact receipt printers, such as the Epson TM-U220, have been a mainstay at any retailer that experiences extreme temperature or humidity changes. Though louder and slower than thermal receipt printers, a good impact receipt printer will provide any business with a sturdy and reliable solution. Some features, like an auto cutter, add functionality but may limit the longevity of the printer.
For check endorsement or slip printing, these printers are a great alternative to a full multifunction receipt printer. Using the same print methods as a standard impact receipt printer, they provide easy access to insert media into the printer. Printers such as the Epson TM-U295 and Star Micronics SP298 are ideal choices for slip printers.
Dot Matrix Printers
Dot matrix printers, such as the Epson FX-890, use tractor-fed paper, useful for invoices for proof-of-service or purchase orders. Because of the design of dot matrix printers, you gain the advantage of multi-ply printing in a single printout, maintaining accuracy and minimizing liability.
